Big North Graphite Identifies High Priority EM Conductors on Griffith and Brougham Properties, Ontario

Vancouver, B.C., July 12, 2012 - BIG NORTH GRAPHITE CORP. (TSX-V: NRT) (the "Company" or "Big North"), announces that the high resolution electromagnetic airborne surveying utilizing the Impulse system of Aeroquest Limited, has identified high priority graphite targets for follow-up on both the Griffith and Brougham properties, located in the Grenville geologic province in southeastern Ontario. The Company will announce plans for late summer and fall 2012 follow-up exploration programs as plans are finalized.

In total 1,187 line kilometres were flown, with flight lines 100m apart, allowing for detailed mapping of stratigraphy and conductive features. Both properties are primarily underlain by marble and clastic sediment lithologies similar to the host rocks at the very high-grade historical Black-Donald graphite mine, located ~25km from Griffith and 10km from the Brougham Property.

The EM survey has identified numerous short to medium length (maximum ~1km, with most being 200-400m) bedrock conductive features at Griffith that are consistent with the Black-Donald exploration model of high-grade pods and vein features in zones of structural geological complexity. The known graphite occurrence on Griffith (veins and disseminations in marble) has demonstrated a bedrock conductive response of interest. On the Brougham Property, one area in particular has been identified with multiple short-length bedrock conductors in an area of structural complexity that is a high priority follow-up target.

The Company plans to mount a comprehensive prospecting program to follow-up and sample all bedrock conductive features of interest as soon as possible, which will be expanded upon in the fall as warranted, with a program of line-cutting, ground geophysics, trenching and sampling.

Mr. Bill Brereton, P.Eng., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, independent of Big North, and an Optionor of the Property, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release.
